Panic seizes me as she just starts sobbing in the phone. I hear a ruffling noise before Mason's voice comes over the other line. "Cassie, it's Mason."

             
"Mason, what’s going on?" I nearly yell out.

             
He sniffles, "it’s Avery. He," he sighs, "he got shot on the way into the fight. Twice; once in the arm, once in his shoulder. He should be okay, but he got rushed into the hospital and is in surgery. That's all I know right now."

             
I drop the phone, my mouth gapped open, my eyes watering, frozen in place. What? He got shot? What am I supposed to do? I have to go see him! But I can't urge myself to move. To talk. Nothing.

             
I'm splashed with cold water which causes me to come out of my temporary coma, then I just start sobbing uncontrollably. Pierce holds me close to him and it takes until then to realize he had been screaming at me but I wouldn't budge. People are starring at us from all around but I don't care. I need to get to Avery, yet I need Pierce's comfort right now. It's all taking over me again.

             
"Tell me what’s wrong?" Pierce whispers in my ear.

             
"Avery's been shot."

             
I feel him tense up. "Is he... dead?"

             
I shake my head slowly. "He's in surgery. I don't know. I have to go see him Pierce, I'm so sorry."

             
"Shh, don't be sorry baby. Where is he?"

             
"San Francisco."

             
"Let's go, I'll bring you. We can pick up Mason and Aubrey on the way."
