Clint grinned.  “Yeah she might do that if she found out, but she won’t and this isn’t going to happen again,” he said firmly.  “And I gotta go.”  He pushed up from the bed.

“You know your dick is beautiful,” Larkin said.

“Dicks can’t be beautiful,” Clint replied gruffly as his cock hardened.

“Yes it can, the harder yours get the more beautiful it is,” she said before kneeling in front of him.  She brought the tip of his dick into her mouth.

“I gotta go,” he croaked.

“How about saying, I gotta come?” Larkin teased before pulling his dick into her mouth, Clint groaned.

She cupped his ass as his dick glided in and out of her mouth in long strokes.  “Oh shit!” he said, then rested his hands on the top of her head.  “Shit!”

A few minutes later, Clint burst inside her mouth and Larkin swallowed.  “So can I have some more pictures of your beautiful body?” she asked an exhausted Clint.

“Um, sure,” he said tiredly.  He had a tiring day at work, he had gotten to Sugah Cakes at five o’clock in the morning and didn’t leave until twelve hours later.  And after having sex with Larkin he was officially whipped.

Larkin started off taking tame pictures of his penis, but as soon as he drifted off she snapped pictures of him sleeping, pictures of her kissing him, pictures of his penis, and the most damaging of them all, pictures of them lying together in bed.

Later that night after Clint left, Larkin texted Violet the pictures.  “I’ll be getting that bonus,” she quipped.

Chapter 14

“Are you happy with everything,” Summer asked Clint, while she nervously surveyed the party.

“You did a great job,” Clint said while admiring the bakery.  Summer and the rest of the crew had spent the last two hours decorating the bakery.  Tables were pushed to the side, silky spider webs draped from the ceiling, dozens of pumpkins laced with white lights were placed on tables, and several strings of Halloween lights outlined the display cases.  Sugah Cakes was ready for Halloween.  Over a hundred cupcakes were available for guests to munch on as well as hot hors d'oeuvre.

“Thanks.  We had a good turnout, better than what I expected.”

“Well the weather helped, it’s almost fifty degrees outside.”

“I know.  I’m feeling it, I’m burning up.” Summer tugged at her white turtleneck.  She had dressed up as a four-tiered wedding cake, while creative it was cumbersome but she as well as everybody else loved it.  “Aren’t you hot?”

“A little,” Clint admitted.  He had dressed up as Medusa, complete with mechanical snakes.  Crystal had burst into tears when she saw him, but stopped when she realized it was her daddy.  He grinned down at his daughter.  “Are you okay?”

“I am,” she smiled up at him.  She was dressed up as Princess Tiana Disney’s first black princess.

“I’ll go mingle, unless there’s something else you need me to do,” Summer said.

“No, go enjoy yourself, and again you did a wonderful job coordinating this,” Clint praised her then nudged her gently, urging her to join the party.  Summer took the hint and merged into the crowd.

Summer was talking with one of Sugah Cakes’ regular customers when she felt a tap on her shoulder.  Grinning she turned around and found herself face-to-face with Klyde, she immediately frowned.  She hadn’t seen him since she told him that she didn’t want to see him anymore.  He had on a lab jacket and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses.

“Hey Klyde, who are you supposed to be,” she asked politely.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a handful of peanuts.  “George Washington Carver,” he said.

“Oh cool.  Well it was nice seeing you.  I, um, need to check on the food.”  She began inching away from him.

“You mind if I come with you?”

“You don’t have to.”

“But I do.”

Summer turned on her heels and pushed her way through the crowd, trying to get away from Klyde, she burst through the doors leading to the kitchen and he was right behind her.

She rounded on him.  “I told you that you didn’t have to come.”

“I wanted to talk to you.”

Summer faced him.  Normally she would cross her arms over her chest or even sit down, but her costume prevented that.  “Okay what?”

“I want for us to start seeing each other again.”

Summer shook her head.  “No Klyde I’m not ready to date.  But thank you for asking.”  She was turning away to go to one of the refrigerators that was holding the cupcakes, when Klyde grabbed her arm.

“Give me another chance.”

Summer snatched her arm away.  “No!”

“I’m not the person you think I am.  I was just stressed out.”

“It’s okay Klyde, it really is,” she said, then nervously looked over his shoulder, hoping that someone would come into the kitchen.  She began to question her decision to be in the empty kitchen with him.  “Let’s just forget about it.”  She tried to step around him, but he mirrored her movements, blocking her.  “Come on Klyde, that’s not funny, I need to get back out in front.”

“I thought you needed to get more food?” he asked, eyeing her suspiciously.

“I did, but I forgot what I needed, so now I need to go back out and check.”  She tried to dart around him but he was too quick, he caught her again.

“You’re not going anywhere,” he hissed in her ear, his breath hot on her skin.

“Let me go!”

“Not until you agree to go out with me again.”

“Fuck you!” She struggled against him, but with her costume her efforts were futile.  He kept a firm grip on her.

Klyde laughed at her.  “That was fun.”

She suddenly remembered something from a self-defense class she had taken.  “Like hell, it was.”
I hope this works
.  She smacked him as hard as she could in the face with her head.  Klyde let out a howl and as his grip loosened, she pulled away and raced out of the kitchen.  Klyde was right behind her.  Panicked, she searched the crowd for Clint and when she found him, she rushed into his arms.

“What’s wrong?”

“Klyde. Tried. To. Hurt. Me.”

“What the…”

Coming through the crowd was Klyde with his hand over his mouth and blood seeping through his fingers.  “Look what that bitch did to me!” he shouted to Clint and the party went silent.

Summer’s eyes widened.  “He wouldn’t let me leave the kitchen.  I was trying to get away honest, it was self-defense.”

“I believe you,” Clint said, while glaring at Klyde.

“I want her arrested,” Klyde screeched and Crystal started bawling.  A shaky Summer bent down to comfort her.

“I don’t think so, you’re the one who’s going to be arrested.”  Clint pulled out his phone and when Klyde realized what he was doing he ran out of the bakery.  “What kind of car does he drive?” Clint asked Summer.  She told him and he relayed the information to the operator.  He hung up.  “I gave them a description of him and his car.  They’ll catch him.”  And he was right, the cops came in fifteen minutes later with a handcuffed Klyde.

“Come on in back so that we can get your statement,” one of the cops said to Summer.

“Would you like me to come with you?” Clint asked concerned.

“No, I’ll be okay, but thanks though,” she smiled gratefully at him and followed the trio to the kitchen.  Thirty minutes later they emerged with Klyde still handcuffed.

“Everything okay?” Clint asked after the cops and Klyde left the party.

“Yeah, they’re going to arrest him.  He admitted to forcibly keeping me in the room.”

“Let me know if he bothers you again.”

“I will, but I hope he doesn’t.  I don’t know why he was so crazy over me in the first place.  That man is psycho.”

“You’re a beautiful lady Summer, you’d make any man go crazy.”

She rolled her eyes.  “Thanks Clint.  Let me go mingle and look for Yvette, I haven’t seen her yet.  Talk to you later.”

“That was a nice thing to say,” Clint heard in his ear and he jumped.

He turned around and found Larkin standing in front of him.  She was dressed as a cheerleader.  “Your pom poms are looking hot,” he whispered.

She winked at him before leaning down and saying hi to Crystal.  “You make a beautiful Princess Tiana.”

“Thank you,” she said groggily.

“I think somebody’s tired.  I’ll be right back, I’m going to put her down in my office.  I have a sofa bed.”

“That’s good to know,” Larkin drawled.

“I’ll be right back,” Clint said and carried his daughter to his office.

Violet watched Clint’s and Larkin’s exchange, jealously flashed through her.  Dressed up as Frankenstein she felt safe that no one would recognize her.  She didn’t tell Clint that she was attending the party.  She didn’t like dressing up for Halloween, but she wanted to see if Larkin was going to show up.

Violet went to the makeshift bar and ordered a wine spritzer.  Several people asked her to dance but she waved them away, she wanted to keep her eyes on Larkin and Clint.  She hit pay dirt when Clint returned and whispered something into Larkin’s ear, she saw them slip off to the kitchen.

She waited five minutes before she followed.  She had a feeling that Crystal was sleeping on the sofa bed in his office, so whatever they were doing was taking place in the kitchen.

Violet pushed open the door, she didn’t see anything.  Pursing her lips, she slipped inside, letting the door close soundlessly behind her.  Violet tiptoed across the kitchen until she heard muffled voices.  She proceeded with caution, that’s when she saw them.  Larkin with her short skirt bunched up around her waist and bent over a chair, and Clint with his pants around his ankles fucking her doggie style. So caught up in the throes of passion neither one heard her gasp of shock.  Violet backed out of the kitchen and into the party.  She got another drink, something stronger this time, and with a shaking hand she slung it back. The pictures of her husband screwing another lady didn’t do justice to actually seeing it with her own eyes. “Is this what I want?  Clint with another lady?” she muttered.  “I think I made a mistake.”

Chapter 15

Clint and Trevor sat inside Sugah Cakes at one of the bistro tables absent-mindedly watching the passers-by.  Sugah Cakes had closed an hour ago and they had the place to themselves.

Trevor took a big bite of his slice of Hummingbird Cake.  “I don’t know how you can work around this all day and not blow up.”

“That’s because I know restraint and I exercise,” he said flexing his biceps and Trevor snickered.  “What’s wrong?”

“I don’t think that restraint applies to Larkin,” he said.  His brother had made him a silent partner in his affair.  Every time Clint was with Larkin, he always told Violet that he was sleeping at his place.

Clint wearily rubbed his hand over his face.  Ever since the Halloween party he had been seeing Larkin once or twice a week, with sex being the main objective.  They did it everywhere, in his truck, her truck, the kitchen, the bathroom, and once even in a dressing room.  Larkin constantly took pictures of them to capture their time together.  “Yeah, that situation is getting out of control.  I don’t love her, but being with her is showing me what’s missing from my marriage.”

“What are you going to do?” Trevor asked, then took a big gulp of milk.

“I really would like to spend some time with Violet and talk, really talk.  I want to know why she’s been acting the way she’s been acting.  I don’t want to make any major decisions without giving us a chance.”

“Get away for the weekend.  Why don’t you go away for Thanksgiving?” Trevor suggested.

“That’s a good idea.”

“But don’t you ever, ever admit to the affair,” Trevor advised.

“Oh, I won’t, believe that! I did that one time, I won’t do that again.”

Violet wrapped her arms around her husband’s waist and rested her head on his broad back.  “Thank you,” she said, then kissed his shoulder blade.

“For what babe?”

“For suggesting this trip, this is exactly what I needed.”

Clint had booked a suite for them at the Atlantis in the Bahamas.  They had only been there for two days, but already it was like their honeymoon all over again.  Even though it was Thanksgiving weekend the resort was crowded and the weather perfect.  So far they had swam with the stingrays, hang glided and did some parasailing.

They were standing in front of their window looking at the Caribbean Sea.

Clint grabbed Violet’s hands and pulled her around so that she faced him.  “This is what
we
needed,” he said before kissing her deeply, Violet melted against him, savoring her husband.

“I love you so much,” Violet said passionately.

“Love you too babe.”

“Sit down, let’s talk,” Violet suggested.

“Sure.”  They made themselves comfortable on the couch.  “Whassup?” Clint asked.

Violet took a nervous breath.  “I’m sorry for being such a bitch—”

“It’s okay.”

“No, it’s not, I was stressed out from work and the stress made me say and do things that weren’t nice.  I’m sorry.”

“Like I said it’s okay.”

“I think that we should go to counseling.  I need to work on some issues,” she admitted and Clint’s eyes widened, he wasn’t expecting this.  The Violet that he knew would never show a weakness.
