Ryan gasped when their eyes met. “I... Liam... I can explain.”

Liam shook his head, but let go of him, clasping his hands together. His mind was a chaotic place, what did he even see?

“I know it’s kinda freaky,” Ryan whispered and stroked Liam’s arm with trembling fingers.

Liam let his head fall down and he banged his forehead against his hands. His whole body was tense like the strings of a guitar. “Is it like... when those people stand up for a moment when they are exorcised on tv, or some shit like that? “ he muttered, flinching at how high pitched his voice was.

Ryan looked to him, his eyes getting teary again. “No.” His voice was hoarse and barely audible as he hugged himself with his arms.

Liam swallowed, unable to make his mouth relax. “What was it then?” He took a shivery breath, fighting the emotions bottling up in his chest and threatening to explode. “I was afraid you’re gonna die up there.”

“But you came for me. We can work it out...” Ryan rubbed his eyes, but it only made them redder. Before Liam had a chance to answer though, they heard Fay yell.

“Ryan! Liam! Oh my God! Are you guys all right?” She ran over barefoot and hugged Ryan from behind. “I don’t think anyone was actually hurt. Rodney and a few people got the extinguishers and they put the fire out.”

“Okay.” Liam shook his head and forced himself to look at her. He didn’t want to think too much. “Is someone from the fire department coming, or what?”

“I don’t know yet. They must be. Does the alarm inform the fire department automatically, Ryan?” Fay kissed the side of Ryan’s head.

“I don’t know anything,” he muttered and hid his face in his hands.

Liam looked at him with a sinking feeling in his chest, but slowly pulled him closer. “You didn’t breathe in too much smoke, or something?” He watched the commotion in the parking lot. Some of the guests were already leaving, and he didn’t blame them. His mind however, kept going back to the moment when Ryan came into view. Maybe it was just the braces? They made his legs steady, so all it took was good balance, right? But when he looked to Ryan’s legs, there were no braces to be seen.

Ryan kept his face in his hands, his shoulders trembling. “I think I’m gonna puke,” he muttered through his fingers and before Liam knew it, cute, little Ryan threw up Zombie Cum all over the grass.
